If you want to make a real difference in your skin tone and texture but aren't ready for a full laser skin resurfacing treatment, the Micro Peel is for you. The Micro Peel - also known as the "Weekend Peel" is a procedure that precisely removes the outermost layers of the skin, without going as deep as a full laser skin resurfacing treatment.
About the Micropeel.
Whereas a chemical peel or microdermabrasion only remove the outermost layer of the skin, the Micro Peel goes several layers deeper into the epidermis to produce significantly better results. The procedure is tailored to each client to remove wrinkles, scars, sun damage, or pigmentation problems. You will notice an immediate change in skin texture and tightness, resulting in smoother, vibrant skin. Most skin areas can be treated; popular treatment areas include the face, neck, chest and hands.
Downtime is also less, typically 2-4 days are necessary for a Micro Peel, vs. 5-7 days for a full laser skin resurfacing. One procedure generally lasts for 6-12 months, but they can be repeated as necessary.
Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing
To remove deeper skin blemishes and wrinkles and restore skin to a vibrant appearance, many clients choose to have a full skin resurfacing. Espri Laser Med Spa uses Erbium lasers, which are the latest advancement for the treatment of aging and sun-damaged skin and are designed to remove surface-level and moderately deep lines and wrinkles on the face, hands, neck, or chest. The erbium laser works by vaporizing the outer layers of the skin, removing surface blemishes and causing skin contraction underneath. The erbium laser has also been shown to stimulate the production of collagen, which further smoothens and tightens the skin.
One of the benefits of erbium laser resurfacing is minimal burning of surrounding tissue; the procedure precisely removes the outer most layer of the skin to reveal younger looking and smoother skin underneath. The erbium laser also causes fewer side effects -- such as swelling, bruising, and redness -- so your recovery time is faster than with CO2 laser resurfacing. Typical recovery time is 4-6 days with the erbium laser, vs. 7-10 days with a CO2 laser.
Erbium lasers have become a popular choice among both women and men wishing to reverse the effects of aging. The effects after receiving erbium laser treatment are healthier looking skin, with reduced wrinkles and blemishes and an improved, more vibrant skin tone. And while erbium lasers work well on any skin tone, patients with a darker skin tone may find the erbium laser to work better than other CO2 lasers.
